2022 Booker "Vertigo" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L)

Deep and brooding, showing notes of blackcurrants, dark chocolate and tobacco leaves. The palate is full-bodied and structured, with firm tannins and bright acidity highlighted by notes of mocha, blackberry compote and roasted meat. Very serious and well constructed. From a blend of 45% syrah, 27% mourvedre,10% grenache, 10% tannat and 7% peitit sirah and 1% viognier, with 30% being whole bunch.

Crushed black raspberries mingle with minty herbs and nuances of menthol as the 2022 Vertigo entices from the first tilt of the glass. The wine is elegant in style, silken to the core with cooling acidity and polished red and black fruits elevated by a core of exotic spice. Seamless to the very end, the 2022 Vertigo finishes with sweet tannins offset by a pleasantly bitter blackberry tinge. What a beautiful showing. Vertigo is a blend of 45% Syrah fermented with 1% Viognier, 27% Mourvèdre, 10% Grenache, 10% Tannat and 7% Petite Sirah. (EG)
