2011 Peter Michael "Ma Danseuse" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

The more mortal 2011 Pinot Noir Ma Danseuse exhibits sweet notes of raspberry jam, currants, camphor and powdered rock. This attractive, elegant, medium to full-bodied 2011 is more evolved and fruit-forward than the 2009 or the perfect 2010. (RP)

Another Pinot sourced from the Seaview Vineyard, but it's a different style to Le Caprice. The grapes for this wine come from the northern sector of the vineyard, which is cooler due to its exposure to the sea breeze blowing through Gualala River canyon. This wine is an ideal match for white truffle risotto. It's light and elegant in colour with a hint of red brick. Violets and plum jump out of the glass, followed by an amaro touch. Grapefruit peel, freshly turned soil and lavender seed tie up this wine with a juicy core and lively finish. (ED)
