2005 Domaine Cecile Tremblay Echezeaux Grand Cru

Bid on this bottle of 2005 Domaine Cecile Tremblay Echezeaux Grand Cru (94JG). John Gilman: "Mademoiselle Tremblay’s forty year-old vines are in the lieu à dit of “Du Dessus”, and she has all of three barrels of this beauty. Two of the barrels are new in this vintage. The wine is lovely on the nose, as it offers up a perfumed mélange of black plums, raspberries, cocoa powder, blood orange, duck, minerals, violets and just a touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is fullish, long and pure, with great focus and intensity of flavor, a sappy core, bright, tangy acids, fine tannins, and excellent length and grip on the very long and very pure finish. I am not saying whose Echézeaux this reminds me of, and I am certainly intending to try and latch onto a few bottles. Just lovely juice. Drink between 2015-2040." (12/2006)
