Dense centre with a lighter rim. Firm and quite weighty, this has a lovely sweet fruit right across the palate, fresh raspberry but still ripe, you can feel the coolness of the site though. This is aromatically interesting, and particularly so for LSJ, as there is an exotic character of dried yellow fruit to the otherwise more typical aromas of earth, humus, game and wild dark berries. There is a relatively refined mouthfeel to the tension-filled, muscular and mineral-driven flavors that culminate in a beautifully persistent finish that is moderately austere but not strict.
