Founded in 1996 by Fritz Hatton and winemaker John Kongsgaard, Arietta built its reputation on distinctive blends from carefully selected Napa Valley vineyard blocks. Variation One brings together Merlot and Syrah from Lee Hudson’s celebrated Carneros property, where cooling marine influence allows a long growing season. Made by Kongsgaard, the 2004 pairs the two varieties in nearly equal proportions, offering an unconventional expression of this southern Napa vineyard.
