Vinous
06/2001Full saturated ruby. Bright, perfumed aromas of cassis, black cherry, licorice, violet and mint. Dense but firm and penetrating, with extremely pure, classy flavors of blackberry and cassis. Lively acids contribute to the impression of clarity. Finishes with big, mouthdusting tannins and terrific length. (ST)

Wine Spectator
11/2002A potent wine, dark, rich and concentrated, with a tight, intense, sharply focused beam of spicy currant, black cherry, blackberry and boysenberry fruit that unfolds gracefully, revealing extra facets of depth and complexity. (JL)
