2020 Cakebread "Benchland Select" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Cakebread Cellars started with Oakland high school sweethearts Jack and Dolores Cakebread, who purchased a 22-acre Rutherford ranch in 1972 and founded the winery the following year. Still family-owned, the business is now led by the Cakebread family’s second and third generations, building on more than five decades in Napa Valley. Estate vineyards span key growing areas including Rutherford, Carneros, Howell Mountain, and Anderson Valley, giving the winery access to a wide range of sites and varieties. Production began with just 157 cases of 1973 Chardonnay and has grown into a broad portfolio centered on Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and other Napa Valley wines.
