2023 Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Chambolle Musigny

Domaine de la Pousse d’Or is one of Volnay’s historic benchmark estates, with roots reaching back to the French Revolution and estate buildings dating to the 16th and 17th centuries. Today it is led by Benoît Landanger, who succeeded his father, Patrick, after a period of major investment that elevated the domaine’s standing among Burgundy’s elite producers. The 17-hectare estate is remarkable for its holdings across both the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits, including seven grands crus and eleven premiers crus. Among its crown jewels are the monopoles Clos de la Bousse d’Or, Clos des 60 Ouvrées, and Clos d’Audignac in Volnay. Farming is biodynamic, reflecting the Landanger family’s emphasis on expressing terroir with precision and transparency. Fruit is handled with a long, gentle vinification and extended lees aging, while the domaine’s gravity-flow cellar minimizes intervention during élevage. The result is a portfolio that showcases some of Burgundy’s most coveted vineyard sites through a philosophy centered on site expression, patience, and meticulous vineyard work.
