In the same ball park quality-wise (as the 2011 Mule), the 2011 Misfit is 100% Syrah that's from the Bien Nacido and John Sebastiano vineyards. Spending 28 months in 60% new French oak prior to bottling, it has juicy berry, olive, peppered steak and hints of gaminess to go with a medium to full-bodied, rich and nicely textured style on the palate. There's bright acidity here, but it's nicely integrated and adds freshness to the finish. It's already up-front and delicious... (JD)
