Nicely maturing but still with several years ahead of it. The nose is quite shy but opens out with time in the glass, joining with flavours of polished leather, sun-warmed warm tarmac, dried herbs, tangy damsons and redcurrants and cured meat. The acidity is bright, the smoky oak well integrated and the tannins are smooth but still with some grip. (TG)

(went through malolactic fermentation and aging in French oak, 75% new): Bright medium ruby. Slightly exotic aromas of black raspberry liqueur, blueberry, bitter chocolate, smoked bacon, spices and licorice. Sweet, pliant and rich; a distinctly showy wine with glossy dark berry and violet flavors. Doesn't display quite the structure or penetration of the 2013 but this is very dense and still quite primary. Very long and ripely tannic on the finish. (ST)

This is a major Douro wine from the Poças family-owned Port and wine producer. Dusty tannins already give it class as well as richness. Packed with black-plum fruits and with good concentration, the wine is still maturing.

This shows depth and interest with blackberry and lightly toasted walnut character. Full bodied, layered and flavorful. Delicious and vibrant.

I love the purity of fruit and the freshness to the brambleberries, blueberries, undergrowth and freshly cut herbs. The texture is very fine with grainy tannins, bright, driving acidity and a medium chewy finish. A blend of Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Alicante, and Malvasia Nera.
