Burghound

A completely different nose of brooding dark berry fruit, piquant earth and distinct sauvage notes complement the punchy, detailed and moderately rustic medium-bodied flavors that are underpinned by firm but not aggressive tannins and fine length on the balanced and mineral-tinged finish. A classic Les Duresses that should repay 8 to 10 years of cellaring.

Notes

Bouchard Père et Fils is one of Burgundy’s historic houses, with deep roots in the Côte de Beaune and a long tradition of working distinctive Premier Cru sites across the region. Les Duresses lies on the slopes above Monthélie, where limestone-rich, stony soils and a relatively cool exposure give Pinot Noir freshness, savory detail, and fine structural tension. The 2011 bottling reflects that more restrained side of the Côte de Beaune, combining red-fruited delicacy with earthy complexity and the firm mineral backbone typical of Monthélie.

This too possesses a liqueur-like character to the super fresh essence of red currant, spice and earth-suffused aromas. There is also a lovely vibrancy and freshness to the precise, intense and delicious medium-bodied flavors that display a hint of asperity on the otherwise lingering finish.

A firm and silky red with dried strawberry, spice and berry character. Medium to full body, bright finish. This often has some premier cru Beaune in it.

Notes

Maison Joseph Drouhin is one of Burgundy’s historic family houses, with deep roots in Beaune and a long-standing emphasis on elegant, site-driven Pinot Noir. The Côte de Beaune Villages bottling draws on fruit from several communes along the southern Côte d’Or, where limestone- and clay-rich soils and varied exposures give Pinot Noir freshness, perfume, and supple structure. The 2013 reflects Drouhin’s restrained style, combining bright red fruit and fine tannins with the savory, mineral character that defines the Côte de Beaune.

2014 Domaine Faiveley Mercurey Rouge

2014 Domaine Faiveley Mercurey Rouge

Quantity:1Bottle Size:750 ml

Domaine Faiveley is one of Burgundy’s historic family estates, with extensive holdings across the Côte d’Or and Côte Chalonnaise and a long reputation for structured, terroir-driven wines. In Mercurey, Pinot Noir grows on a varied mix of limestone, marl, and clay soils across rolling slopes, producing wines with more body and savory depth than many neighboring Côte Chalonnaise appellations. The 2014 bottling captures that character with bright red fruit, firm structure, and the earthy, mineral detail typical of classic Mercurey.

2014 Domaine Robert Chevillon Bourgogne "Passetoutgrains"

2014 Domaine Robert Chevillon Bourgogne "Passetoutgrains"

Quantity:1Bottle Size:750 ml

Domaine Robert Chevillon is one of Nuits-Saint-Georges’ benchmark family estates, known for old vines, meticulous farming, and traditionally structured wines that emphasize vineyard character. Its Bourgogne Passetoutgrains combines Pinot Noir and Gamay from estate parcels on the limestone- and clay-rich soils around Nuits, bringing together Pinot’s perfume and finesse with Gamay’s juicier, more immediate fruit. The 2014 bottling reflects Chevillon’s restrained approach, offering freshness, savory detail, and a distinctly Burgundian sense of place in a more accessible style.
