2005 & 2008 Paul Bara & Paul Michel Champagne Grand Cru Tasting Lot
Bid on this 2-bottle tasting lot; including 1-bottle of 2005 Paul Bara "Annonciade" Grand Cru Champagne (93VN) and 1-bottle of 2008 Paul Michel "Cuis" Blanc de Blancs Champagne Grand Cru. Of the 2005 Paul Bara "Annonciade" Grand Cru Champagne, Vinous writes: "The 2005 Brut Cuvée Annonciade is another gorgeous wine in this range from Bara. For the Annonciade, the estate takes a selection of their best fruit and vinifies it in oak. Warm, toasty notes from the wood complement the natural richness of the Pinot fruit. But more than that, I am impressed with the wine's freshness and impeccable balance, something that is so hard to find in 2005. Red plum, spice, dried flowers and baked apple tart scents leave the final impressions. The 2005 is fabulous, especially within the context of the year (AG)." (11/2020)

Champagne Paul Michel is a family-run grower-producer in Cuis, in the Côte des Blancs, where the Michel family has cultivated vineyards since 1847. Founded by Paul Michel, who established the house and released its first commercial Champagnes in 1952, the estate has remained focused on Chardonnay from one of Champagne’s most important growing regions. Denis Michel expanded the vineyard holdings over time, strengthening the domaine’s identity around precision and purity. Since 2014, Geoffroy Michel has worked alongside his father, overseeing vineyard operations and contributing to winemaking. Today, the house produces more than 100,000 bottles annually for both the French and export markets, maintaining a multigenerational commitment to estate-grown Champagne and the expression of Côte des Blancs Chardonnay.
