NV Jacques Selosse Brut Rosé Champagne

Bid on this bottle of Jacques Selosse Brut Rosé Champagne (98JD). Jeb Dunnuck: "The release of the NV Champagne Brut Rosé was disgorged in May of 2021, with the base of Chardonnay coming from Avize and the Pinot Noir from Ambonnay. The nose is expressive, offering elegant layers of incense that evolve in the glass, and it t is fresh with apricot, honeycomb, wet stone, dried raspberry, and pristine red flowers. The palate is striking in its pure chalky texture without feeling austere and is impeccably balanced with a long savory finish. It captures the energy of a fresh grape just picked off the vine and is full of pleasure. It is hands down one of the top rosé Champagnes produced today. Drink 2023-2038.(AF)" (11/2022)

Jeb Dunnuck

The NV Champagne Brut Rosé is 92% Chardonnay from the chalky middle portion of the slopes within Avize, Cramant and Oger, with the still wine of Pinot Noir coming from Ambonnay. Pouring a golden orange hue, it’s elegant and medium-bodied, opening to refined aromas of fresh peach, orange blossom, orgeat, and saline. Crisp, linear, and vibrant on the palate, it takes on its chalky straightness with a silky texture of wet stone and has significantly more tension, as well as a long-lasting, salty finish. This is one of my personal favorite Rosé Champagnes. (AF) (11/2023)

Wine Advocate

The new release of Selosse’s NV Brut Rosé is based on the 2019 vintage and was disgorged in April 2025 with a dosage of 1.65 grams per liter. In addition to fruit from the Côte des Blancs, it incorporates some 40% from the Sézannais, where soils are characterized by pebbles of silex, and is completed by 3% Pinot Noir sourced from Francis Egly. The wine soars from the glass with a bouquet in which orange oil, Sichuan pepper, beeswax and dried flowers mingle with dried apricot and almond paste. Full-bodied, flamboyant and deep, with a rich core of fruit, it is underpinned by bright acidity and ample reserves of chalky structuring extract and has turned out beautifully. This cuvée, too, is disgorged several times a year. (KK) (03/2026)

Vinous

We begin with a bottle of NV Rosé from Jacques Selosse, a 2010 disgorgement. There are scurrilous rumors that I dislike Selosse. There are not many things in life I dislike, maybe only war, racism, bananas and everything ever recorded by Irish boy band Westlife, but it’s just that some bottles are excessively oxidative and have no qualms telling you so. That said, this bottle’s oxidative element was perfectly pitched and complements rather than defines the champagne. There’s wondrous precision on the nose, with rose petals, a punnet of slightly overripe strawberries, rooibos, and background scents of Essex cockle sheds. The palate has exquisite balance, what feels like a once concentrated Rosé Champagne that spent the last decade cohering and gaining precision. It gains depth with aeration - just magnificent.
