“Bright red. Spicy redcurrant and strawberry on the nose, with a zesty white pepper quality adding energy. Shows deeper cherry and plum on the palate, but also offers vibrant minerality and a suave floral pastille character. Finishes with a crisp, exotic orange peel flavor and impressive length. “A ripe and nicely elegant red berry fruit nose that has just the barest trace of crushed herbs in the background precedes rich, sweet and full flavors that possess good energy and lovely drive on the complex, intense and persistent finish. This is relatively tightly wound and required most of an hour to really open and is a wine that will clearly age. Note further that in contrast to most CA pinot where it's very important not to let the temperature rise too high, here is seemed more important that it not be served too cool. There are of course limits on both sides but the point is that the flavors seemed less temperature dependent than many. *outstanding*” (10/2008)
