“Vivid ruby-red. Explosive, appealing scents and flavors of ripe cherry, candied raspberry and Asian spices; really showing its grenache component today. A perfumed floral nuance comes up with air and carries through a very long, spicy, sharply focused finish. As sexy as this wine is right now, I suspect it will be even better with a couple years in the cellar. (JR)” (12/2012)

Anticipated maturity: 2013-2020. This set of wines from proprietor Matt Trevisan was among the most impressive I tasted in Paso Robles. The wines seem to have a bit more energy and focus than in the past. Native fermentations and a generally artisan, hand-made approach informs a style full of personality and character.
