2002 Jordan Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2002 Jordan Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92DC). Decanter: "An even growing season without extreme heat or rain delivered a highly uniform crop that resulted in richly textured wines. This one is appetising, unified and harmonious, with bright red fruit flavours and an undertone of chocolate. There’s a bit more Merlot than usual, which contributes to the soft, opulent texture. Provenance: Original owner. Purchased directly from the winery or retailer on release and stored in the temperature controlled cellar of a Nothern California collector.
Label Condition: One bottle nicked label
The addition of fruit from estate hillside vineyards and the blending of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot with the Cabernet Sauvignon are responsible for the well integrated flavors, deep color and full mouth feel of the 2002 vintage. The bouquet is highlighted with aromas of cassis, black cherry and dark chocolate, with undertones of sweet tobacco and cedar. The 2002 Cabernet is very rich in texture with opulent flavors of ripe blackberry, cherry and cassis. This Cabernet has a lingering finish of subtle earth, cigar tobacco, cedar, and a well integrated and restrained framework of oak.
