Burghound: "An exuberantly spicy nose reflects aromas of exotic tea, sandalwood, red and dark currant plus a pretty array of floral elements. The supple and round flavors possess both good volume and richness though not nearly the same minerality on the succulent yet still entirely serious finish that coats the palate with sappy dry extract. 90pts Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy: "Clear bright ruby crimson. A clean bouquet with vanilla oak and soft red fruit blended, then some slightly austere cherry notes behind. Whereas the Malconsorts from Lamarche filled its boots in this tasting, the Echezeaux is looking a little one dimensional at this stage. Tasted: September 2021."

“The 2017 Echézeaux Grand Cru has a backward, stubborn, slightly earthy nose that opens with aeration to offer some redeeming floral scents of rose petal and peony. The palate is medium-bodied with a tight opening, rather stringy tannins and fine acidity, and shows a little attenuation toward the austere finish. Hmm... I was expecting more given its excellent showing from barrel. Maybe it’s just closing down. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting. (NM)” (01/2022)
