2022 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Vaucrains"
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2022 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Vaucrains" ((93-96BH), (93-96JM), (94-96VN), (93-95RP)). Vinous: "The 2022 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Vaucrains 1er Cru, the last Premier Cru to be served from barrel, has the finest nose: mineral-rich black and red fruit with exquisite detail. The most precise of Chevillon's Premier Crus. The medium-bodied palate offers ripe red fruit laced with marmalade and blood orange. It’s a little spicier than the Les Saint-Georges and grainier in texture, with a dash of brown spice on the finish. Outstanding. (Drink between 2028-2052) (NM)" (01/2024)

“A more reserved nose grudgingly reflects notes of poached plum, earth, plenty of sauvage character and interesting whiffs of crushed star anise. There is a bit more minerality present on the vibrant and intense medium weight plus flavors that possess excellent delineation that carries over to the firm, compact and tautly muscular finish. This youthfully austere effort is going to require extended patience as it's both backward and very tightly wound yet oh so promising! (Drink starting 2037) (AM)” (01/2024)

“A lively fresh purple. A touch of new oak for the moment a bit dominant. Then a much darker red fruit which has if anything even more energy than Les St-Georges, but not quite as smooth at the finish, yet. Some tannins still to work out.” (11/2023)

Wine Advocate
“The 2022 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Vaucrains is inky and serious, unwinding in the glass with notions of dark berries, cherries and plums complemented by subtle hints of rose petal and violet. Full-bodied, layered and muscular, with an imposing chassis of rich, powdery tannins, this will, as ever, reward patience. (WK)” (01/2024)

“Cask sample.Mid-ruby. Immediate force and volume. Deep red and black fruits, a little animal virility. Top-quality fruit with a real sense of resolve and depth. From beginning to end there is a real sense of power, really growing on the back of the palate. The sullen nature of classic Nuits? Sullen in a brooding, steadfast way. (MH) (Drink between 2030-2040) 17.5/20” (04/2023)
