1998 Mayo Family "Los Chamizal Vineyard" Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
1998 Mayo Family "Los Chamizal Vineyard" Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Quantity: 1

Bottle Size: 750 ml

Provenance: Purchased directly from the winery or retailer on release and stored in the temperature controlled cellar of a Northern California collector.

Label Condition: Bin Soiled Label

Mayo Family Wines began in 1993 when Diane and George Bugos acquired a neglected hillside site above Glen Ellen and replanted it to Zinfandel and Bordeaux varieties. The vineyard sits along Los Alamos Road on red volcanic soils, with exposures that favor slower ripening and firm structure. Production remains limited. Blocks are picked by taste and fermented in small lots, with restrained use of oak and a focus on preserving the character of the site. Zinfandel anchors the lineup, supported by Cabernet Sauvignon and small parcels sourced from Alexander Valley and Napa Valley.
