Founded by Churchill's Port in 1981, Churchill’s is one of the Douro’s youngest independent Port houses, established by Johnny Graham with a commitment to producing traditionally styled Ports that emphasize freshness, balance, and vineyard character. The Late Bottled Vintage category allows a single-vintage Port to spend extended time aging in cask before release, developing greater complexity and approachability while retaining the identity of the harvest year. Sourced from the steep schist soils of the Douro Valley, this wine reflects the region’s combination of intense summer heat, dramatic river-valley terroir, and indigenous grape varieties that have made Port one of the world’s great fortified wines.

According to Wine Spectator: "Good deep-ruby color, with an attractive plummy, grapey character. Medium-bodied and medium-sweet, with fresh acidity and fruit that hide the tannins. Needs more tannin backbone. Best after 2002. 5,000 cases made. –JS" (Feb 1999) .
