Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2016 Domaine Henri Boillot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Clos de la Mouchère" (95VN, 94BH, 94JM). Vinous: "Superb floral lift to the aromas of stone and citrus fruits, minerals and smoke. Compellingly silky, even thick, on entry, but with terrific inner-mouth mineral lift shaping and intensifying the wine's lemon and floral flavors. Dense with dry extract, this outstanding 2016 premier cru leaves the salivary glands quivering on the very long, slow-building finish. Ninety percent of these vines are 70 years old, according to Boillot. (ST)" (09/2018)

“The prominent wood this once displayed has now been almost completely integrated on the elegant layered aromas of mineral reduction, white rose, spice, citrus and a wisp of exotic tea that are now showing just a bit of secondary character. There is excellent richness and detail to the intense and beautifully textured flavors that flash an abundance of minerality suffusing the moderately dry, complex and impressively persistent finish. This is still on the way up but at 8 years of age, it is sufficiently developed that it could easily be enjoyed now.” (07/2024)

“Pale lemon colour. There is impressive weight of fruit on the nose, more white than yellow. A little bit of reduction helps the thread here and there is impressive density, a white fruit core and excellent length very fine finish.” (05/2019)

“Saline, refreshing and citric with a sharper, more vivid palate than their village Puligny, but not much more complexity. Better length and pith, however, so this is promising for the future. (RH) 17.5+” (01/2018)
