“I continue to love the Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper site, which sits in the southern portion of Oakville. The 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard is inky-hued with a brilliant perfume of crème de cassis, graphite, freshly sharpened pencil, and a Pessac-like scorched earth character. With nicely integrated oak, medium to full body, ripe tannins, and a great finish, it needs to be hidden for 3-5 years and will blow you away over the following two decades. 97+” (12/2025)

“There are 100 cases of 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard, all sourced from Block A, the part of the vineyard closest to Highway 29. That equates to four barrels, two new Taransaud and two François Frères (one new, one once-used). Mocha and loam notes accent dark cassis and plum in this medium- to full-bodied wine that is concentrated and structured, with its fine-grained tannins making themselves felt on the long finish.
