Provenance: Purchased from a reputable retailer upon release and stored in a professional, temperature-controlled wine storage facility.

Domaine Leflaive began its modern era in 1905 when Joseph Leflaive purchased and replanted vineyards in Puligny-Montrachet during the post-phylloxera downturn, then bottled under the family name by the 1920s. His sons formalized the estate in 1973 to keep the holdings intact. Anne-Claude Leflaive took full control in 1994 and completed a full biodynamic conversion in 1997, a shift that helped define the domaine’s identity and influence across Burgundy. The estate farms about twenty-four hectares today, including grands crus such as Montrachet, Chevalier-Montrachet, Bâtard-Montrachet, and Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet, all dedicated to Chardonnay. Long fermentations in oak followed by élevage in stainless steel maintain a restrained, traditional style.

Wine Spectator

Intense and expressive, this white features apricot, peach, briny mineral and pastry flavors. Balanced and supple, with a firm line of acidity for structure. It all comes together nicely on the lengthy finish. (BS) (09/2024)

Vinous

The 2022 Pouilly-Fuissé En Vigneraie 1er Cru spends one year in barrel with 15% new oak and then six months in stainless steel. This has an attractive bouquet with hints of yellow plum and fine mineralité. It's less honeyed than others I tasted from this vintage. The palate is nicely balanced with a keen thread of acidity. It's a little peachy and spicy in style, building nicely with a brisk finish. (NM) (06/2024)

Burghound

Here too the nose is exuberantly fresh and floral in character with additional notes of citrus, white orchard fruit and a touch of wood influence. The gorgeously textured medium-bodied flavors brim with sappy dry extract that also serves to buffer the firm acid spine shaping the unusually powerful finish that offers even better length as well as a bit more overall complexity. Excellent and worth checking out. (06/2025)

Wine Spectator

The peach, yellow plum and honeysuckle flavors are expressive, while this white remains harmonious and graceful. There’s a light, stony undertow, and the aftertaste is long and vibrant. (BS) (02/2026)
