Whiskey and beer work beautifully together, and Jameson knows this. Their newest Caskmates bottling uses ex-IPA (Irish Pale Ale, in this case) beer casks from the Franciscan Well Brewery in Cork. The whiskey is aged in these casks, bringing a broad range of flavors to the tipple. The hops are clearly noticeable, and there's a bit of a floral note, some spice, citrus, and a nutty quality as well.

Proper Twelve was developed by Conor Anthony McGregor who is an Irish professional mixed martial artist and boxer. The whiskey is produced at the world's oldest, licensed distillery in Ireland, and McGregor worked with master distiller David Elder to produce a blend of sweet Irish grain and single malt Irish whiskey. Producer tasting notes: "a smooth balanced whiskey with hints of vanilla, honey-like sweetness and toasted wood."
