2019 Mathieu Allante & Christian Boulanger "Amalgamè" Côtes du Jura
Quantity: 2
Bottle Size: 750 ml
Provenance: Purchased from reputable sources and stored in the temperature controlled wine cellar of a Los Angeles based collector and repeat consignor with K&L Auctions.
Condition: Excellent
A focused Jura blend with clear intent behind its rustic edge. Mathieu Allante and Christian Boulanger, both trained at Domaine Labet, have built a small biodynamic project around restored parcels near Gizia, emphasizing low-intervention viticulture and native varieties. “Amalgamè” is a co-fermented field blend led by Petit Béclan, a nearly extinct local grape that provides structure and tannin, supported by Gamay, Poulsard, Trousseau, and Pinot Noir. The wine is fully destemmed, fermented with native yeasts, and aged in used 300-liter barrels for roughly a year, without fining or filtration. Aromatically, it shows red and dark berry fruit layered with citrus peel, herbs, and a light mineral salinity. The palate is firm and textural, with pronounced acidity and a slightly grippy finish.
