The famous Irish Brigade is one of the oldest and most awarded military units in the history of the United States. Founded in 1849 as the New York State Irish Militia, the 69th has fought as a U.S. Army infantry regiment in major engagements from the Civil War to modern day. It's armory is located on Lexington Ave in New York City. This new whiskey was created to celebrate and give back to the Regiment. A dollar for every bottle goes back to the Regiment and right now every dollar goes to New York COVID relief. As for the whiskey, it hails from a small unnamable distillery in western Ireland. 100% distilled on site in pot and column stills from 100% malted and unmalted barley. The blend is made up of four distinct components: ex-bourbon, rechar bourbon, port pipes, and sherry butts. The resulting whisky is nuanced and comples, yet easy drinking and approachable. Not at all dull or boring like so many other Irish blends. A fitting tribute to this legendary regiment.
