2023 Junichi Fujita "Juna" McMinnville Red Blend
Quantity: 1
Bottle Size: 750 ml
Provenance: Purchased from reputable sources and stored in the temperature controlled wine cellar of a Los Angeles based collector and repeat consignor with K&L Auctions.
A quiet, under-the-radar Oregon project that’s starting to catch serious collector interest, Junichi Fujita is a McMinnville-based farmer–winemaker working a tiny hillside site called Juna Vineyard in the Willamette Valley. He farms the vines himself and makes the wines by hand, supplementing with a bit of carefully sourced, organically grown fruit. His path runs through UC Davis and a series of formative apprenticeships, including time with old-world icons like Pierre Overnoy, Jean-Louis Dutraive, and Stanko Radikon. That shows up in the glass as low-intervention, site-driven wines that lean textured, lifted, and quietly expressive rather than flashy. Production is tiny, often just a few acres total, and releases tend to vanish quickly. Pinot Noir is the core, with bottlings like Komomama and Sonomama capturing different snapshots of his site and farming. Think Jura-meets-Willamette energy. Minimalist, personal, and still early in its story.
