Bid on this bottle of Maguey Melate "Mango" Edgar Gonzalez Ramirez San Cristobal Lachirioag Oaxaca Mango Eau de vie (375ml. This insane fruit eau-de-vie is distilled from 100% fermented mango. The fresh ultra ripe mangos are cultivated locally by hand and crushed on the mezcalero's stone tahona press. They're fermented in pine vats for more than 20 days using spring water. After the long slow natural fermentation, the mango's are double distilled on small copper pots. Only 80 liters were made of this special spirit, a one of of kind specialty found no where else commercially. The cost to recreate a similar spirit in the US would be astronomical. But more importantly than the rarity is the unique character. Powerfully aromatic and full of bright fresh tropical fruit, there's no other fruit distillate in the store that matches this special spirit. Of the 80 liters made only 54 bottle are available in California exclusively at K&L Wine Merchants.
