Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Georges Mugneret Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Chaignots" (92JG, 90BH, 90RP, 90ST). John Gilman: "This was still waiting in tank to be bottled in April of ’09 and was showing beautifully. The nose is very, very elegant in 2007 (as was the case with a great many of the 2007s from Nuits that I tasted out of barrel), as it offers up a fine mélange of red plums, cherries, a touch of nutskin, woodsmoke, coffee and fresh herbs. On the palate the wine is fullish, suave and complex, with a fine core of fruit, flawless focus and balance, moderate tannins and impressive grip on the very long and pure finish. A terrific bottle of Nuits in the making. (JG) 92+" (01/2010)

91 points Jasper Morris for Inside Burgundy: "Fine pure red with a faint amber tinge. Glorious fruit on the nose, beautifully on the cusp of Nuits and Vosne. Classical classy fruit, perhaps a little too much new oak though it will survive." (06/2017)

“Here the nose is spicier still with very high-toned aromas of cranberry, red current that are nuanced by hints of soil tones that suffuse the subtly sauvage, rich, full and naturally sweet medium full flavors that possess fine volume and excellent length.” (01/2010)

Wine Advocate
“Tasted blind at Flint Wines’ 2007/2012 Nuits Saint-Georges tasting in London. The 2007 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Chaignots from Mugneret-Gibourg has a perfumed bouquet with dark cherry and blackcurrant aromas, a little high toned as this cuvée can be and yet it remains nicely focused. The palate is chewy on the entry and this suggests that it may have undergone more extraction than usual. The fruit is as much black as red, proffering pastille-like notes towards the finish that at least has retained more freshness than its peers. (NM)” (11/2016)

“Bright medium red. Expressive, ripe nose offers smoky redcurrant, coffee and underbrush. A step up in intensity and thrust from the Vignes Rondes, with sound acidity giving a juicy, energetic quality to the cherry and spice flavors. Finishes with good spicy persistence and lift. (ST)” (03/2010)
