Int'l Wine Review
“The 2015 La Paciencia Vineyard Tempranillo is a fantastic wine, which was aged in 20% new French oak prior to bottling and is truly one of the finest being made in North America. It instantly impresses as it begins with inviting aromas of smoked meats, wet stones, umami and peat moss. On the palate it shows wonderful juicy red fruits with a meaty character that is underlined by a wonderful saline streak. This is outstanding now, and should continue to provide years of enjoyment ahead. (OB)” (08/2018)

Wine Advocate
“Offering up aromas of cassis, dried berries, candied peel, panforte, raw cocoa and baked earth, the 2015 Tempranillo la Paciencia has already integrated its 30% new oak. On the palate, it's full-bodied, seamless and layered, with a deep core of savory fruit and a structuring chassis of rich, fine-grained tannins and a mouthwateringly stony finish. (WK)” (06/2018)

“Bright ruby-red. A hint of smoky reduction to the rather Graves-like aromas of dark cherry, boysenberry, mocha, warm rocks and tobacco. Then surprisingly juicy, spicy and penetrating in the middle palate, showing terrific intensity and texture to its fresh red fruit and spice flavors. Finishes classically dry, with a firm spine of broad, dusty tannins and a touch of savory smokiness. I'm impressed! (ST)” (11/2018)

Wine Enthusiast
“This is an up-and-coming variety in the Rocks District subregion of the valley. The aromas are generous, with notes of moist earth, tobacco, cherry and dried herb. The flavors are elegant in style, showing a sense of texture and grace. The finish kicks it up a notch. (SS)” (12/2018)

James Suckling
“A lacy, sultry and light-handed tempranillo that has supple and open-knit flavors of cherries and spices with meaty complexity layered into the smooth, easygoing finish.” (05/2018)

Jancis Robinson
“While the aromas open quite restrained, the palate brings forth a juicy burst of flavour carrying mixed fruits, pleasing earthiness, and a hint of cocoa powder. The wine is savoury with lightly tactile tannin and a nice structural focus carrying a lot of freshness and a persistent mix of floral notes and distinctive spices. It is quite a complex, while lifted Tempranillo. The acidity is generous, mouth-watering and lengthy. Delicious. 17.5+/20 points (ECB)” (07/2022)
