Lush and creamy, featuring vanilla, butterscotch, peach, apple and lemon flavors. Turns more focused as this cruises to the long, spice- and mineral-tinged finish. Delivers excellent harmony and energy. (BS) (05/2024)

Domaine Leflaive began its modern era in 1905 when Joseph Leflaive purchased and replanted vineyards in Puligny-Montrachet during the post-phylloxera downturn, then bottled under the family name by the 1920s. His sons formalized the estate in 1973 to keep the holdings intact. Anne-Claude Leflaive took full control in 1994 and completed a full biodynamic conversion in 1997, a shift that helped define the domaine’s identity and influence across Burgundy. The estate farms about twenty-four hectares today, including grands crus such as Montrachet, Chevalier-Montrachet, Bâtard-Montrachet, and Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet, all dedicated to Chardonnay. Long fermentations in oak followed by élevage in stainless steel maintain a restrained, traditional style.

There's fine concentration to this white, lending viscosity to the texture and embracing flavors of peach, white flowers and honeydew melon. Light baking spice and pastry notes linger on the finish. (BS) (05/2024)

Burghound

A markedly more floral-suffused nose reflects notes of lemon zest, spice and the essence of pear. There is fine volume and intensity to the generous yet beautifully defined medium-bodied flavors that deliver excellent length on the very dry but not really austere finale. (06/2025)

Aromas of honeysuckle, peach and baking spices draw you in, while orchard fruit, citrus and spice flavors hold your attention. Polished and harmonious, this white glides to the lingering aftertaste. (BS) (02/2026)
