Pride Mountain Vineyards sits high on Spring Mountain, straddling Napa and Sonoma in a patchwork of steep terraces first planted in the 19th century. The modern chapter begins in 1990 when Jim and Carolyn Pride revived the old Summit Ranch, restoring stone cellars and dry-farmed blocks at roughly 1,200 to 2,100 feet. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc dominate, shaped by thin soils, cool nights, and long hang time that builds structure without heaviness. Fermentations run small and patient; élevage favors French oak with restraint, letting mountain tannin and savory detail lead.
