Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Quintessa Rutherford Bordeaux Blend (90DC). Decanter: "Oaky black fruits nose, open, fresh and high-toned, offering notes of blackcurrant jam, sweet spices and caramel. Shows an elegant, graceful style, with a silky texture, yet not lacking tannins or structure. As the wine opens it shows notes of cedar wood and tobacco. Good length with a sweet edge. Provenance: A New York State home climate controlled cellar. All wines have been sourced from reputable retailers and auction houses.
Label Condition: Three bottles lightly scuffed label
Biodynamic viticulture and a top-notch winemaking facility harmonize with the fine Rutherford terroir of this great Napa estate. Minimal grape handling in their gravity-flow facility with native yeast fermentation make the blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot that was aged for 20 months in 85% new French oak. From winemaker Charles Thomas: "A fresh1 floral, violet aroma mingles with plum and currant in the nose. On entry, the wine is supple with pleasing richness and density that leads through the midpalate. Warm clove spice, sassafras, and a touch of vanilla complement nuances of toast to deliver a complex mix of flavors and texture in the mouth. The wine finishes long and satisfying with dark berry fruits, cassis, and chocolate."
