Provenance: Purchased from reputable sources and stored in the temperature controlled wine cellar of a Los Angeles based collector and repeat consignor with K&L Auctions.
Winemaker's Notes: "We only make a "Napa Valley" designate Cabernet Sauvignon when we feel that the sum of the parts are equally as brilliant as any one of our single vineyard wines. To get to that end, we taste and work with all our vineyards to find the right blend. 2016 Napa Valley Cabernet is a blend from three distinct very steep, mountain single vineyards on Soda Canyon, Mt. Veeder and Spring Mountain. The final blend ended up being 100% Cabernet from clones 4 and 337. All three lots were fermented separately and then, after several blending trials, assembled. Like all of our Cabernets, this was bottled both unfined and unfiltered after 18 months in new Darnajou and Taransaud."

“The vineyards used in the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley are from Mt. Veeder, Spring Mountain and Soda Canyon. Every vine is planted on a very steep hillside, so in many respects this is a pure hillside Cabernet. Deep garnet-purple, it's simply gorgeous on the nose with cassis, black cherries, blueberries and spice box with nuances of roses, violets and chocolate box. “The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Tor is dark, plummy and generous, all qualities that make it a terrific choice for drinking now and over the next handful of years. Plum, blackberry, chocolate and espresso notes are pushed forward. As good as the 2016 is today, it also has enough freshness and energy to drink well for another decade or more. I would give the 2016 a few years in bottle to allow the tannins to soften, but readers will find that a challenge, as the wine is so delicious today. (AG)” (02/2018)
