“Glowing fresh purple. A beautiful nose, very classic Bachelet. Light on its feet but with a sensual energy and just a little touch of pepper at the finish. This takes me back to Bachelet wines of the 1980s before they became so concentrated. Fine attractive red fruit finish.” (11/2022)

“A more subtle application of wood sets off the cool and super-fresh aromas of both red and dark berries, earth and more prominent sauvage hints. I very much like the texture of the medium-bodied flavors primarily thanks to the relatively fine-grained tannins supporting the suave yet tension-filled finale that offers better depth on the lingering finale. “I have loved this bottling from Monsieur Bachelet since the very first vintage I sold of it, all the way back in the 1985 vintage. It is consistently one of the finest values to be found in all of Burgundy and the 2021 version is another fine success. The wine delivers a lovely nose of black cherries, plums, raw cocoa, grilled meats, a lovely base of soil tones, a touch of mustard seed and a deft framing of new oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and ripely tannic, with a fine core of black fruit, fine mineral undertow and grip, excellent balance and a long, focused and nascently complex finish.” (11/2022)
