NV Soter "1977-2007" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of Soter "1977-2007" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (93VN). Vinous: "Opaque ruby. Intense blackberry, licorice, tobacco and floral pastille scents show impressive power and focus. Juicy, smoke-tinged dark berry flavors are complemented by succulent herb and dark chocolate notes; becomes sweeter with air. Suave floral pastille and black and blue compote notes linger on a long, smoky, penetrating finish that features supple, harmonious tannins. This wine was aged in 80% new French oak for 30 months. It must be designated as 'American Red Table Wine' because of the multi-vintage blend; Tony Soter says that it's his swan song for California Cabernet. (ST)" (05/2014)
