It's rich, medium to full-bodied, has a wonderfully rounded, textured mouthfeel, loads of underlying structure, and a great finish. “Beginning with a firm, dusty nose with gobs of fresh, ripe fruit, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Dubrul Vineyard is juicy and hedonistic in the glass, offering seductive floral and oak aromas. Full-bodied and generously layered, the wine shows a kiss of volatility on the palate, which is in step with its weight and structure, giving way to firm, fine-grained and youthful tannins that grip the gumline. This Cabernet evolves in the mouth for moments on the finish, leaving behind persistent flavors of blackberry skin, black cherry reduction and dusty plums. Aged just under two years in 90% new oak, it has a classic DuBrul nose of savory red and black currants, loamy earth, dried tobacco, and spicy, cedar pencil-like nuances. With medium to full body, its oak is much better integrated compared to the Rosebud release, and it has a layered, seamless mouthfeel, beautiful yet substantial tannins, and a great finish.
