1995 Yamazaki La Maison du Whisky "The Owner's Cask" Single Cask Japanese Whisky (700ml)
Founded in 1923 by Suntory’s Shinjiro Torii, Yamazaki is Japan’s oldest single malt distillery, located between Kyoto and Osaka in the water-rich Vale of Yamazaki—a site originally selected by Masataka Taketsuru for its ideal conditions. The distillery houses 12 stills and produces a wide range of expressions, blending multiple whisky styles and cask types rather than aging a single base spirit, contributing to its distinctive character and role in Suntory’s blended whiskies. Taketsuru, after helping launch Yamazaki, later founded Nikka in Hokkaido, establishing Japan’s other major whisky legacy.
