Agnes Levet has become one of the great winemakers in the Northern Rhone. She took over winemaking duties from her father Bernard and has propelled Vignobles Levet to one of the most sought after wines from the region. The wines are classically flavored with loads of complexity partly because they do not veer into the modern style of fleshy over-the-top syrah flavors. The Cote-Rotie (known as the Amethyste on the European label) is the most open of the three cuvees. This blend of various parcels, encapsulates the style of Levet with its brambly berry fruit and savory overtones.
