Bid on this 3-half-bottle horizontal of 2005 Sine Qua Non "Atlantis" Grenache and Roussanne, comprising of a single half bottle of Sine Qua Non "Atlantis Fe203-2d" Grenache (375ml) (98RP, 95ST, 90WS) and two half bottles of the Sine Qua Non "Atlantis Fe203-3e" Roussanne (375ml) (97RP, 94ST) in original wood. Of the Grenache, Robert Parker writes: "The aromas reveal a distinctive chocolatey note along with the tell-tale blackberry, cassis, kirsch, licorice, camphor, and floral characteristics. Deep, complex, and full-bodied with a roasted meat-like flavor, despite its size and richness, the overall impression is one of elegance and phenomenal definition. It should drink well for 10-15+ years."

(for 375 ml.; 8% alcohol with 370 g/l r.s.) Medium red. Impressively complex nose offers a wild bouquet of raspberry, violet, pepper, smoky Indian spices and vanilla. Juicy red and dark berry flavors are deep, sweet and sappy, with dark chocolate and candied flowers adding complexity. A building spiciness adds energy to the lush, liqueur-like berry flavors. Finishes with outstanding sweet persistence and lingering spices. Seven people took two days to hand-destem a mere 1.3 tons of fruit. (JR)

This 2005 Sine Qua Non Grenache Atlantis Fe2O3-2d release is a sweet red style—labelled "Vin de Paille"—and is sourced from the Eleven Confessions Vineyard.

Incredible aromas of honeysuckle and marmalade are classic late-harvest Roussanne, and the wine’s sweet style is beautifully balanced by terrific acidity (12.5 grams of acid per liter). (RP)

Hugely aromatic, gaudy bouquet of peach, apricot, blond tobacco, mint and dried flowers. Spicy pit fruit flavors stain the palate, gaining depth and sweetness with air. Finishes with a degree of lift and cut that I would never expect from such a rich, sugar-laden wine. These grapes came from the Alban vineyard. (JR)
