1964 is for me the most underrated of all Bordeaux vintages – the charming Pichon is still drinking well though it won't improve by keeping. (Article)

A delicious, yet chunky, four square sort of wine, the 1964 Pichon Lalande continues to evolve in the bottle. It exhibits an appealing black currant and herb-scented, earthy, spicy, almost Graves-like bouquet. In the mouth, the wine has soft, nicely endowed, ripe flavors. (RP)

Solid wine for the vintage, exhibiting lovely aromas of mocha and berries. Full-bodied, with sweet berry and milk chocolate character. Impressive, considering the rain that fell during the harvest.
