94 points Chris Kissack writes for thewinedoctor.com: "Another bottle of this, a popular château in a vintage that provided a happy hunting ground for fans of the classic style. Even at this age this wine still displays a dark hue in the glass, enveloped by a dusty oxblood rim. Aromatically this offers a lesson in classicism, with savoury notes of blackcurrant laced with herby notes redolent of juniper berry, green peppercorn, mint and rosemary, along with veins of black pepper and soot. The palate is similarly elegant and restrained, showing a dry and savoury structure, a medium-bodied presence through the middle, with a tense and strict frame. It finishes long, direct and it is certainly classically styled. A wine now shaped more by its acidity than by its tannin structure, which has largely faded, but it remains a delight.
