The 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape continues to drink beautifully, and has never really shut down since release. Exhibiting loads of lavender, sweet black raspberry, cassis, licorice and garrigue-styled aromas and flavors, it shows the sweetly fruited, voluptuous 2007 style (Thierry’s father claimed that he’d never seen a vintage like this). This full-bodied, concentrated and layered Chateauneuf will drink nicely through 2027. (JD)

A gorgeous, silky, perfumy style, with tea and incense leading the way for supple-textured raspberry, black fig and mulled currant fruit notes. A perfumy note weaves through the minerally finish, with very fine-grained structure. Stylish for the vintage. (JM)

Dark red. Deep red and dark berry aromas complicated by rose, lavender and smoky minerality. Showing more richness and darker fruit character than it did from cask, offering sweet black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors and a mounting floral quality. Not at all outsized. Packs a solid punch and finishes with impressive clarity and length. (JR)

Hint of animal and warm bricks on the nose. Then very complete and ripe and engaging. Great balance and integrity. Lots of real richness with tannins very well hidden. But definitely there in abundance. 18-/20 points (JR)
