Review Date: 03/2020Lots of chocolate, mocha, darker fruits, and dried herb-like notes emerge from the 2012 Château Barde-Haut, a medium to full-bodied, concentrated 2012. It's showing a touch of maturity yet still has plenty of tannins and structure, good mid-palate depth, and outstanding length. I continue to think 2012 was a great vintage for the Right Bank, and this certainly doesn't change my mind.

Notes
90 points Neal Martin - Vinous: "The 2012 Barde-Haut has a much fresher nose than its peers with well-defined blackberry and raspberry fruit mixed with cedar and violet aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and fine acidity; it's taut and fresh with admirable structure on the almost Left Bank styled finish. A good, solid Saint-Émilion here." (02/2022)
