2009 DeLille Cellars "D2" Columbia Valley Washington Red Blend
93
Int'l Wine Cellar
Review Date: 12/2012(a blend of 55% merlot, 34% cabernet sauvignon, 9% cab franc and 2% petit verdot): Bright full ruby. Perfumed nose combines black cherry, plum, cinnamon, mocha, fennel and exotic spices. Suave, pliant and sweet, with a distinctly layered texture to the expressive flavors of blueberry, blackberry and black pepper. Finishes with substantial, broad tannins, a sweet note of dark chocolate and superb persistence. A great vintage for this bottling, which includes some of the Harrison Hill fruit.

Notes
From DeLille Cellars: "The impression on the nose is immediate with aromas of fresh cherries, cinnamon, plum brandy, mocha chocolate, fennel seed and cigar box. The array of bright nuances continues on the palate with classic "Bordeaux blend" flavors of black currants, black cherries, blueberries and mint. There are also delicate hints of black pepper, brown butter and toasty oak flavors that combine with rich and juicy mouth watering balance continuing through the lengthy finish delivering yet another delicious D2 vintage."
