2001 Domaine de Marcoux Châteauneuf-du-Pape
92
Int'l Wine Cellar
Review Date: 01/2004Good medium red. Aromas of roasted plum, raspberry and redcurrant, plus a whiff of mocha. Juicy, bright and vinous, with urgent currant and raspberry flavors showing lovely elegance and impressive inner-mouth energy. Finishes very ripe and vibrant, with superb lift. (ST)

Notes
Marcoux produces wine from 40- to 60-year-old vines for their regular cuvée. The grapes are grown organically, and biodynamic techniques are used in the vineyard and cellar. The wine receives no fining, filtration, or destemming. No new oak is employed but rather tank, foudres, and neutral barrels are used. *Biodynamic*
